Reach To Space — Space Commercialization Conference

November 12-13, 2007, Washington D.C., U.S.A.

Celebrating 50 Years of Space

2007 is the 50th anniversary of the space age. It's been a remarkable time in human history. Within a half-century we have witnessed Astronauts on the Moon and roving robots on Mars. Huge satellite earth stations have shrunk to handheld satellite phones, while commercial satellites operate like orbiting computer networks into space. Space industries have grown from multi-million dollar enterprises to global industries producing hundreds of billions of dollars of revenues. But we've not seen nothin' yet.

The Space Commercialization Conference

Space is the new frontier of the 21st century. The "sky is no longer the limit." The Personal Spaceflight Federation has over a dozen institutional members and nearly forty entities around the world are working on space planes and commercial orbital systems to pioneer a new space tourism industry.

Organizations such as the Space Elevator Corporation and Tethers Unlimited Inc. are designing totally new ways to access space at a fraction of today's costs. Bigelow Aerospace and Inter Orbital Systems have serious plans for longer-term visits to low earth orbit at costs that, in time, might even be below $10,000. Space Adventures, Virgin Galactic and others will very soon be offering sub-orbital flights to dark sky.

To learn about commercial space industrialization in the 21st Century, the place to be in November 2007 will be at the International Conference on Commercial Space in Washington, D.C. This international event will have participation and/or sponsorship by the Society of Satellite Professionals International, the FAA, NASA, Auburn University, Ohio University, George Washington University, and a growing list of industry, academic institutions, and professional organizations. You will not want to miss it.

Joseph N. Pelton, Director, Space & Advanced Communications Research Institute, George Washington University, Founder, Arthur C. Clarke Foundation, and Former Dean, International Space University
